Nout Bodyn (00') is an artist living and working in Kluisbergen. His practice revolves around the concept of entrances, exits, and the spaces in between. Through his sculptures, he aims to communicate in a universal, non-verbal manner. His works are characterized by openings and entrances, and the spaces in between serve as the lungs of his creations. Bodyn infuses humor into his work in a playful and unexpected manner. His sculptural work strikes a balance between abstraction and figuration, as he engages in a dialogue with his environment and his sculptures themselves. His works incorporate figurative and abstract forms, which merge to embody each other. Bodyn's works have the ability to transform the familiar into the unusual, creating situations that are characterized by a combination of absurdity, mystery, and silence. Through his use of scale, texture, and the positioning of his sculptures, he creates a disordered effect that transports viewers into an abstract world.
